I've been playing around with the first part of "Tricotism" and working on the tune "All Of Me." The Pettiford tune is rough--it's in Db and it requires a lot of string switching and jumps on the G string. This is why I like it. The jumps are from open to 2nd position to 5th position. It's helping me figure out where these are. It's also such a good melody that you can hear when it gets pitchy.
I am mostly working on "All Of Me" on the piano, and it's a great way to see the chords.
